#5: Mayhem Big Day

“Mayhem Big Day'' portrays probably some of the scariest things that could happen on your big day. A wedding day, for most people, is an exciting yet scary new start. Therefore, if anything ends up happening to your home or car it could be prrretty nerve racking to say the least!

“Mayhem Big Day'' was organized very well! We were first introduced to the main character, Mayhem, who automatically invoked a sense of distaste. Mayhem then continued to heighten that feeling throughout the remainder of the ad. Further into the video, the main character is indifferent to all the disorder he is causing around himself. To finish off the ad, Mayhem promotes insurance so that the viewers can help protect themselves from the outcome of bad things happening.

This ad definitely does a great job of taking you through an emotional rollercoaster of concern, humor, unbelief, and back to humor. Mayhem as the best man makes a perfect recipe for disaster! After he’s done making his mess lets just hope that there’s at least a little cake left over for the newly wed couple to wallow in their pain.

While the plot of the ad is based at a wedding, the background noise is mainly muted save for the occasional problem happening here and there. While the background is heavily detailed with all things wedding the main focus is Mayhem speaking and promoting the car insurance.

Additionally, this specific Allstate ad is primarily aimed towards engaged couples. Sadly, the main plot is at an unfortunate couple’s wedding. YIKES! The creator of this ad used an excellent tactic of concern and fear. Weddings are already stressful as well as expensive which is why “Mayhem Big Day'' promotes home and auto insurance. So if any mayhem does occur, their clients will be protected.

“So get Allstate. And be better protected from Mayhem.”
